 2022 Preview 


       Bob Jones completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 5-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 7A region four, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Bob Jones's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hewitt-Trussville by a score of 42-20.

       It marked the first time since the 2018 season that the Patriots qualified for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Bob Jones has gone a combined 87-47. Their 64.9% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class 7A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Bob Jones has managed to compile a record of 153-121. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 15th in Class 7A and 128th in the AHSAA.




       The Patriots are led by head coach Kelvis White who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 8-13 over the past two seasons at Bob Jones. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach White.

       Coach White's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen season stands at 72-78 (48.0%). Over the course of his career, Coach White's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times and won one region championship.

       It has been nine years since the Patriots last won a playoff game. Under Coach White the chances are improving for things to get better in 2022.

       The Bob Jones Patriots will play in Class 7A region four during the 2022 season.

       The Patriots should be in contention for a playoff spot in region four this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Patriots open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Muscle Shoals on Thursday, August 18 at Madison City Schools Stadium. Last year the Muscle Shoals Trojans finished with an overall record of 9-2 and in second place in Class 6A region eight. The Trojans lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs to Pinson Valley by a score of 28-21.

       Bob Jones and Muscle Shoals have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 1-4-0 record against the Trojans. They last met in 2019 with Muscle Shoals winning by a score of 46-19.

       Bob Jones returns 7A All-State  offensive lineman Maddox Sunderman. He was named to the first team last season. The Patriots also return  athlete Rayshawn Hardy. He was named to the first team. The Patriots also return  linebacker Rowan Jones. He was named to the second team.
